no sound when recording videos with iphone 4s - ios7

There is a solution to this problem.

If you have had the battery replaced or replaced it yourself. It is possible that the grounding clip (very small clip) p in upside down . Its the small clip next to the orange screw.

My video stopped recording sound as well. I have an iphone 6. It’s so annoying. I’d buy a new phone if I could afford it but iphones are too expensive now.

I saw your reply to the above question. I'm having the same problem. I tried the solutions in the article you posted but my issue is not resolved. My iPhone 4 records voice notes without any problems, makes and receives calls with no sound issues, but does not record sound when recording videos with the camera. This issue has only been present since upgrading to iOS 7.

Do you have any suggestions in addition to the article you posted above? Or should I just call Apple Support.

I'm also having this issue. Sound works fine for everything, and records sound for voice memos, but nothing for video recordings.

I am having this same problem and only with videos which I record. Sound works fine with downloaded videos, Siri, apps and phone.

Step 1. Enable all sounds from settings

Step 2. Turn volume buttons and ringer switch ON

Step 3. Power off

... turn iphone on and It should work.

Same here, no sound when recording a video, however, voice memos works fine. Can somebody from Apple please address this issue? All our Christmas videos will be soundless, not a great experience for anybody...

My video recording sound stopped with iOS 7, but it started working again when I updated to 7.0.4 - that may help.

I had same issue. Could be issue with IOS update,....but mine occured after I connected to Ihome bluetooth and forgot i left it on. 😊 Just turn off my bluetooth and worked fine.

I just found I have the same issue when I was recording videos of my 5 year-old niece singing on the stage for Christmas party. It was her first time. 😟

Trying to fix everyway, but it did not help.

I had the same problem. Then I remembered the last thing I was doing was listening to music with my ear buds. So I went into the setting menu that you get when you swipe from the bottom to the top of the screen (where the torch etc is). The volume was turned right down in there. Once I turned it back up it was recording with sound again.

This worked for me, RESTART. 😉

Thanks all for your suggestions, I have tried each and every one.....still have to look at mute videos of my kids during Christmas.

I have updated to the last OS, have turned on/off countless times, fiddled around with the volume sounds and what not as suggested above, checked bluetooth settings, etc... Despairing.

Can someone from Apple please weigh-in here?
